How to play Invokyr

You roll, the house answers, and you either reach the end of the board or you do not. Dice are found by searching, and the store page says each one can be used once. That is the beginner rule worth remembering before any tier list.

I replayed the release trailer from October 8 and then put the store paragraphs next to the developer FAQ notes: controller works, mouse and keyboard are the priority, and you can rebind. I am not publishing a key art diagram, because I have not opened the bind screen.

What a turn is asking you to do

The short description is the rules summary: roll the dice, survive what is summoned, beat the Gamemaster. Special dice heal, hide, or hinder hunters. The same sentence says the risk is part of the die.

Getting lost matters. The about text calls the house a labyrinth and warns that you may not find the board again. Stay oriented before you chase a sound.

Search rooms for dice. Do not spend a die just because you picked it up.
Roll when the table asks. Expect a summon, a trap, or a curse.
Use a special die only for the problem in front of you. It is gone afterward.
Finish the board if you want the save. Dying in the middle deletes the run, per the developer FAQ notes.
Spend shop currency on the clock if your group keeps losing a run at the end of a board.

Controls and the comfort options that are listed

Steam categories checked on October 16, 2026 include adjustable text size, custom volume, playable without timed input, subtitle options, stereo sound, and family sharing. The developer FAQ notes add an arachnophobia mode that removes spiders and leaves webs, a camera-shake toggle, and full rebinding.

A controller is supported. The same FAQ says the game is mainly tuned for mouse and keyboard. If a prompt feels wrong on a pad, that matches the developer’s own priority, not a broken install.
