Invokyr mic not working

Invokyr has in-game voice. Players describe it as proximity chat with distance falloff, and they say the push-to-talk setting currently toggles the mic instead of transmitting only while the key is held. I do not have an official menu diagram, so the steps stay at that level.

I read the October 10 push-to-talk thread and the October 10–11 posts about voices that sound close when the speaker is far away. I also saw the older patch line that fixed the audio input device list on the main menu. I have not opened the current options screen in a client, so I will not name a button I have not seen.

What to try, in order

These steps follow player reports from the October 2026 build, plus one older official fix. If a menu label does not match, stop. The label may have changed after V0.44.11.

Treat push-to-talk as a toggle: press once to open the mic, press again to close it. Holding the key is what players say does not match the label.
Stand closer. Voice is reported as distance-based, so a quiet teammate may simply be far from your character.
Open the audio input device list. A Demo-era patch, V0.36.8, fixed that list on the main menu, which is why a wrong device is still the second thing to check.
If the icon looks off but you can hear yourself in another app, the game setting is the more likely fault.
If nobody in the lobby hears anyone, switch to the connection page. That is a network problem, not a mute icon.

Known voice complaints

October 11 posts say a distant teammate can sound nearby. Players compare it to Discord with a volume falloff and no clear direction. That is a reported bug, not proof your headset failed.

Later subtitle fixes (V0.44.9 and V0.44.10) are about captions freezing dialogue, not about the microphone. Do not skip a voice bug just because you installed a subtitle patch.
